Drink of the Week (3/27/12)

This week's featured drink is one of Jenn's absolute favorites!!  As always, you can get one anytime, but they are on special Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9pm-11pm and on Wednesday from 8pm-10pm!

Orange Cupcake (in short glass)

• 1 shot Mandarin Vodka (or any Orange Vodka will work)
• 1/2 shot Vanilla Kiss (or any Vanilla Liqueur will work)
• fill with Sprite or Sprite Zero

Open Mike Night (3/24/12)

Our first Open Mike Night was a huge success! Big thanks & huge wet kisses to Marty O'Connor for hosting and to Don Dombrowski & John Dauber for their incredible musical talent and for helping Marty out!

We had a veritable smorgasbord of talent! Standing ovation to (in no particular order) Bill Cotter, Burny White, Jack Yazembiak, Claude Braudis & Ethan!! (apologies if there are any misspells, I'm a bartender so it's shot of Cuervo, Yuengling, whiskey sour, Yuengling & Miller Lite LOL)

As an added bonus, $117 was donated for the Second Harvest Food Bank! I have no doubt we will reach our goal of $10,000 before the year is out!

I managed to snap a few pictures in between slinging drinks. Not bad for being taken with an iPod. Hope to see you on Saturday April 7 for the next Open Mike and don't forget this Wednesday (3/28) Marty & Friends play from 7:30 till about 10ish.

Drink of the Week (3/20/12)

To celebrate the beginning of spring (not that there was much of a winter) our first Drink of the Week is Electric Lemonade. Always available, and on special from 9pm to 11pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. And if you're so inclined to try one at home:

• 1 shot Citrus Vodka
• 1/2 shot Blue Curacao
• 1 1/2 shots Sours Mix
• Fill with Sprite

Helping Out

We're big on helping out here at Bobby's.  Don't get me wrong, making money is nice, ensures that our bills get paid and keeps us going, but there's no reason at all that while we're doing that we can't be making sure that we're also giving back.

Our constant fundraising endeavor is the Marty Nights, benefiting the Second Harvest Food Bank of NWPA.  If you can't make it in on those Wednesdays feel free to drop off food donations anytime you're in the bar.  We take it all over there, food, money, whatever anyone donates.

In February we hosted a fund raiser for the Erie Animal Network.  The organization started off on Facebook and blossomed into a fantastic network watching out for and taking care of whatever abandoned animal any of the members come across.  Not only do they find foster homes and permanent homes for these animals, they collect monetary donations, pet supply donations, coupons for pet supplies and their Facebook group posts information about Lost and Found pets, more often than not reuniting these lucky animals with their even luckier human families.

So, next time you're at the bar, bring in some dog or cat food, some coupons, anything and we'll make sure it finds its way to the network!

What's Going On....

Contrary to what Jenn the bartender says, Karaoke is NOT the japanese word for tone deaf,   it actually means Empty Orchestra.  With that in mind, did you know we have karaoke three times a week??  Tuesday evenings from 9pm to 1am with Larry Montefiori, Thursday evenings from 9pm to Midnight with Jenn and Friday evenings from 9pm to 1am with Jenn (really she does have a home and does occasionally go there....). 

In all honesty, karaoke is not about sounding good, it's about having fun.  You probably sound better than you think you do anyway. 

So come on in, try it out, just have fun!!
