Jeff Gault's Fun Notice (June 28, 2012)

Sorry for the absence folks, I've got an 11-year old who would not relinquish the laptop!!  Anywhooo, here we go...... -Jenn

Hello Fun Seekers,
Sandy and I had a great vacation last weekend.  We started off Friday afternoon at a private party at a great little Lakefront Cottage.  Enjoying a nice beach, some good food and some exceptional company made the day fly by.  It was then off for a sunset drive along a scenic lakeshore "blue road" encountering vineyards and wineries.  We ended up at this quaint little urban bar to catch the last set of this cool blues band with a fantastic female vocalist.  As we walked back out on the street, music seemed to be wafting through the air, so we followed it to the roof top of a nearby hotel.  Against the back drop of some mid-rise buildings across the street a country band performed.  Though not our usual choice of music the setting was so enjoyable we stayed much later into the night than folks our age should.  The following day we found a great dining spot on a deck under the trees connected to a fine restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner.  Next was a short drive with friends through the woods and along sandy beaches to a huge stage erected right out on the beach.  We were treated to a fantastic affair with food, drinks and the music of a International Touring Band.  Again we ended the evening, well after midnight, sipping cocktails, enjoying the company of an interesting group of folks all gathered around a intimate little bar.  If we only lived near here we could do this all the time.  OH! We do.
Here is the itinerary for your next vacation.
THURSDAY---  You may want to start at Cougars for the Block Party with the American Ride Band and the Romantic Era.  Or maybe it is out to wine country at Heard Park in North East for That Dan Band.  But if it is jazz that sooths your soul make it to The Colony Pub and Grill and enjoy the Colony Jazz Trio.
FRIDAY---  You might consider this the start of "4th of July WEEK".  Maybe some Jackson Station at Coconut Joe's for starters.(6:00) or the Dock Boys at Under the Clock. (7:00).  If you have not made it in from the county maybe Hultman and Barb Songbook at the Riverside Inn is your first stop. (8:00).  But downtown the 8:00 hour brings SWAGG to the stage at the Baybreeze Lounge.  To keep the night going you might want to consider Al Donadi and Doug Phillips Unplugged at Erie Ale House or south to Presque Isle Downs for Key West Express or to the West Village and The Sandbar with Taylor Maid. You may want those fireworks early and Harborcreek will provide them at Community Park accompanied by Paddy Whacked and the M-80's.
SATURDAY---  If your in the mood for some afternoon fun I would suggest Harborcreek Community DaysSalmon Frank takes the stage at 2:30.  Next on your itinerary should be dinner at Alto Cucina with Jim Cuneo.  But again tonight there is music for those starting out from the south county.  Carl Wozniak and The Highlife are playing at the Sunset Grill, Edinboro Lake Resort. (7:00)  At Sprague's Farm Rick and The Roadhouse Rockers kick it up at 6:00 or in the East County, Lakeview Wine Cellars is featuring Eric Brewer and Friends. (6:00).  But my choice would be to start in town at Romolo Chocolates ( chocolate is always a good place to start).  The Summer Music Series is featuring Falling HGollywood tonight. (6:00).  The Bayfront is also hopping tonight with Buffet on the Bay at The BurgerKing Amphitheater, a fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank.  The music starts at 5:00 and includes Mambo, Ron Yarosz and the Vehicle, Key West Express.  But also on the Bayfront is The Dock Boys Trio at The Cove, the Breeze Band at Rum Runners and Taylor Maid at the Sloppy Duck.  You may want to end up "On The Roof" with the Spellcasters at The Avalon.
SUNDAY---   Not a day of rest but a day of fun.  Jon Halmi From The Hip at Rum Runners, MJT at The Cove, Jim Cuneo at the Cray-Z Parrot all on the water, all starting at 4:00.
MONDAY---  OK go ahead and rest.
TUESDAY---  I hope you did rest because tonight has some great events.  Night at the Keys emulating Mallory Square in Key West on the Sunset Terrace of the Convention Center.  Admission $10 to benefit the American Cancer Society.  Music of course is being provided by Key West Expressy , Hawaiian attire recommended.  But then Marty O'Connor's "every other Wednesday gig" is tonight, Tuesday in recognition of the 4th being Wednesday.  Join Marty O'Connor and his Friends for a gala event at Bobby's Place (out back in the pavilion) all donations going to the Second Harvest Food Bank.  But if your thinking I need to be indoors then The Sandbar is you stop to hear TH Latona.
WEDNESDAY---  4th of July and we are only half way through the week, you will have to wait until next Thursday for the rest of the schedule.  But tonight's schedule starts with Perry 200's patriotic party at, appropriately, Liberty Park.  Fun Starts at 5:30 with the Parade Street Dixieland Jazz Band and ends with the Gem City Concert Band and Fireworks being shoot off a barge in the bay.  But this is not your only choice the UPMC Sunset Music Series at Beach 1 continues this week with a strong musical line up.  The Groove, JD Eicher & the Goodnights and finishing up is Ruby Port.  Where do I get a clone???
Looking at all this you may ask "How does Jeff ever get any real estate done?"  Well I have found bankers who work in the evenings and attorneys that work on Sundays.  If your looking for a team that can meet your schedule give me a call.
